Obituary of Joan Carter Rybar

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joan Carter Rybar, 89, went to be with her Lord peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Friday, March 30, 2018.

Ms. Rybar was born in Weymouth, Mass to the late Jesse Brady Carter, Jr. and Agnes Mercer Carter.  She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and was retired from Red Lobster in Orlando, Fl.  She loved the outdoors, sunshine, butterflies, her pets and her dear friends at Beulah Baptist Church.  As a single mother, she faced many trials, but soldiered on with a brave face.  She traveled near and far, seeing England, Scotland and wonderful trips with Judy out west and to Alaska.  Joan enjoyed living in South Carolina where she easily made friends with the people who welcomed her here so warmly.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy Norris (David); sister, Muriel Nickerson of Maryland, three grandchildren, Adam Sherrick (Kristin), James Walmer and Teres Carducci (Justin) and four great grandchildren, Riley Rennay, Colton, Mason, and Hayden Carducci.  She was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Aldridge and a daughter, Jody Walmer.

Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Fletcher Funeral Service.  Burial will be private.  Viewing will be from 2-3 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 1762 Greenpond Road, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.
