Obituary of Harald Hansen

Harald “Hal” Bernhardt Hansen, 86, husband to Rosemarie Joya Hansen for 62 years, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 28 ,2022. Mr. Hansen was born in New York, NY to the late Harald Egon Hansen and Christina Thomsen Hansen. Hal was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Navy and parishioner of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. He was a member of the Italian American Club of Greenville. Hal was an active member of the Cursillo, and also served many years as a Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Hal was a loving spirit, never failing to uplift and share his witty sense of humor with others. In his younger years, Hal was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and had a love for animals. He and Rosemarie enjoyed traveling, serving in the Knights of Columbus and volunteering for Stuart Myers Hospice, in Palm Coast, FL. Hal was a loving, Christian husband and will be missed by all that knew him. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Mark Hansen (Diane); a daughter, Michele Ormand (James); a brother, Carl Hansen (Pam); and five grandchildren, Madeline Ormand, Ben Ormand, Tad Ormand, Nate Ormand, and Tori Ormand. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Will; and two grandchildren, Kennan Hansen and Matthew Hansen. The family will receive friends between 6-8 pm Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 o'clock Friday, December 9, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Military honors will follow at the church. Inurnment will be at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
