Lizzie Pearl Marler Gilbert, 84, widow of Adolphus Frank Gilbert, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Mrs. Gilbert was born in Ware Shoals to the late William Marler and Dora Beatrice Mitchell Marler. She was a member of Henderson Baptist Church. Attending to children was her ministry. Pearl enjoyed flower gardening and collecting Angel figurines. She was proud to be a descendent of Cherokee Indian Heritage.

Surviving are two sons, Frankie Gilbert and Billy Gilbert (Mandy); a daughter, Darlene Eustace with husband Tim; an extended family of numerous children that Pearl held dear to her heart and whom she was known to as Mom or Nannie; seven grandchildren, Beth Herring with husband Chad, Kyle Eustace with wife Michaela, Shelby Burton (Dylan), Kambrea Gilbert, Preston Gilbert with wife Maddie, Dalana Gilbert, and Hunter Blevins; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Lela Pearl, Sawyer and Claudia; a brother-in-law, Olin King; four special friends, Debra Scott, Georgia Smith, Ann Osborne and Becky Kirkland; and her beloved dog “Buddy”. She was predeceased by a son, Undrea Jefferies; a brother, Tommy Marler; and a sister, Nancy King.

A Celebration of Pearl’s Life will be 1 o’clock Thursday at Henderson Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Rabun Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
