Johnny Michael “Mike” Land, 75, husband of the late Annie Martha Hodge Land, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Mr. Land was born in Greenville to the late Johnny Wilton Land and Mary Iola Mostella Potter. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served two tours in Vietnam. He worked many years at Cryovac. Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a hard worker with a big heart – helping others when he could. He loved shooting guns and taking trips to the beach. He was a collector of knives.
Surviving are his stepfather, Philip Potter; two brothers, Stacey Ledford with wife Della and Erik Ledford with wife Michelle; three sisters, Vicki Reid with husband Wayne, Catherine Gray, and Lisa Hayes with husband Travis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Claude Hodge; a daughter, Tammy Parker and a sister, Susan Ledford.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Graceland East Memorial Park.
