Obituary of Lewis Barton

Albert Lewis Barton, 64, of Gray Court, SC, died after a courageous fight with a short illness on Thursday, December 26, 2024.  Born in Greenville, he was a son of David Louis Barton and the late Lucy Putnam Barton.

Lewis enjoyed camping, fishing, and shooting pool, but his favorite pastime was riding with his Harley Davidson motorcycle group.

Lewis is survived by a brother, David Barton (Kathy); two sisters, Rebecca B. Karlik (David) and Rhonda B. Davis (Alan); his girlfriend, Terry Lynn Gowan; nephews, Bryan and Chris Davis; nieces, Stephanie Hamby, Rhonda Davelle Barton, Ashley B. Julian, and Sabrina B. Huff; sister-in-law, Julie C. Barton (Timothy); special friends, Michael and April Grooms; and many Harley Davidson brothers and sisters.  In addition to his mother, Lewis was preceded in death by his grandparents, George & Fannie Putnam and Niley & Marie Barton; brother, Timothy N. Barton; nephew, T.J. Barton; his first wife, Johnnie Lee Barton; and his second wife, Susan B. Barton.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Fletcher Funeral Service from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm.  The celebration of life will follow in the chapel at Fletcher Funeral Service beginning at 2:45 pm.  After the celebration of life, Lewis will be escorted by his Harley Davidson brothers and sisters to his final resting place at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.
