James Benaiah Nelson, 17, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Ben was born in Greenville to Owen Scott Nelson, Sr. and Debra Louise Julian Nelson. He was a member of Powdersville Road Church of God where he enjoyed the Fall Festivals and VBS. Ben was a self-taught “YouTuber” that created, edited, and posted his own videos. He was a huge fan of Creation Science Evangelism and Dr. Dino with Dinosaur Adventure Land.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Scott Nelson, Jr.; two sisters, Abigail Nelson and Katherine Nelson; maternal grandfather, Waymon Julian with wife Pat; and two uncles with their wives, Howard and Teresa Nelson and Johnny and Firuza Julian. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Cecil and Viola Nelson; and maternal grandmother, Alice Julian.
A celebration of Ben’s life will begin at 4 o’clock Sunday at the Powdersville Church of God, officiated by Pastor Ted Capps. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
