Obituary of Faye Cooper

Please share a memory of Faye to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gloria Faye Cooper of Fountain Inn, SC went home to be with Jesus and her many loved ones peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

Faye was born in Lake City, TN and will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.  She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Fountain Inn.  She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Claude David Hawkins and Nancy Ann Heatherly Hawkins; brothers, Norris, Ronnie, Donnie, Jerry, and Lloyd Hawkins.  She is also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Sue Grant, Katherine Adrionick, Geneva Norton, Lilly Mae Hawkins, and Claudine Manning.  Faye was the life of the party.  She was always up for all family gatherings, church meetings or traveling with her husband, Curtis, to anywhere he could dream of.  She was co-owner of CEC Tool for many years alongside her husband and worked hand in hand with him in every endeavor he undertook.  It didn’t matter if it was in the shop, working cattle, building fence, or anything else, she was there.

Faye is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Curtis Cooper; and her only surviving sister, Cherry Ann Lane with husband Pat.  Although she never had any children of her own, she is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who counted Aunt Faye as their “second mom”.  She was the fun loving and caring Aunt that all people need and want.  She was a fierce protector of those she loved, and she never left you wondering where you stood with her.  Her dedication to her family and friends was never in question.  If you wanted a great time, she would always be ready for a shopping trip, game of UNO, Rummy-cube, or cornhole.  Faye will always be remembered with smiles and laughter because that is what she would want.

Faye was loved and adored by her friends, brothers, and sisters in Christ at Bethany Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by all that know her.  Her greatest desire was to share Christ with all those around her.  Her instructions for her funeral were to make sure that the saving grace of God is preached to those that attend, so be ready.

A celebration of Faye’s life will begin at 3 o’clock Saturday at Bethany Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Entombment will be in the Cooper mausoleum at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund, 134 Bethany Circle, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.
