David Bowers Obituary
David Bryan Bowers, 68, husband of Jeannie Crenshaw Bowers (BooBoo) for 27 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 after a short, but hard fought battle with cancer.
David was born in Greenville to the late William “Bill” Bowers and Mary Frances Hamilton Bowers. David was a 1974 graduate of Berea High School and an avid Clemson football fan. He attended Brookwood Church and was the founding owner of Bowers Auto Parts. David spent a life time in the auto industry doing what he loved. He was a hot rod and auto racing enthusiast. David also was a race car driver, holding the Anderson Speedway Legends Track Championship title for 2005 and 2006. David retired from Advance Auto after 28 years of serving the auto enthusiast and auto industry.
Surviving, in addition to his wife are daughters, Cheri B. Neves (Steven), Melissa B. Pepper (Richard), Beth Childress Laney, Angie Chambers (Bob, deceased), and Amy Gentry (Phillip); brother, Phil Bowers; grandchildren, Carolyne Veselovsky (Stepon), Catelyn Neves, Cassidy Neves, Haley Pepper, Aubrey Pepper, Rainey Booth (Eric), Logan Chambers, Hannah Chambers, Spencer Chambers, and Dr. Ethan Covil (Porter); and great-grandchildren, Eli and Owen Booth.
The family will receive friends 10am-12noon Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon Thursday, February 13th, officiated by Dr. John Adams. Burial will follow in Graceland West Cemetery on White Horse Road.
