Obituary of Virginia Wilson

Virginia Lowe Schwartz Wilson, 97, widow of James Franklin “Jimmy” Wilson, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

 

Mrs. Wilson was born in Avondale, NC to the late Francis Laird Schwartz, Sr. and Lela Elizabeth Meyers Schwartz.  She was a graduate of business school.  She worked at Southern Bell and later retired from Bank of Greer.  Virginia was a member of Emma Gray Methodist Church and a member of the Woodruff Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed traveling, sewing, quilting, flower gardening and collecting stamps.  She cherished being Grandma to her grandkids.

 

Surviving are a son, Danny Wilson with wife Amy; a daughter, Diane Lamb with husband Jody; a sister, Hattie Ogle with husband Russell; seven grandchildren, Nicole Sheppard with husband Ralph, Tiffany Nicholson with husband Michael, Danesa Haney with husband Ryan, Kevin Lamb with wife Karen, Danielle Walls, Joshua Lamb with wife Erika, and M.J. McCoy with husband Jordon; and nineteen great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl Schwartz and Franics Schwartz, Jr.; six sisters, Betty Lou Schwartz, Rita Moree, Geraline Totheron, Martha Henderson, Peggy Beaner, and Katherine Knight; and a great-granddaughter, Virginia Kay Haney.

 

A celebration of Virginia’s life will begin at 1 o’clock Friday at Emma Gray Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Chuck Pace.  The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.  Burial will be in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
