Althea Lamb, born September 28, 1927, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025.   She was born in Charleston, SC to Raymond Eugene and Vinice Olivia Droze Lamb.

She married Henry Joseph Lamb from Andrews, SC in 1946 and they began a life of church ministry, serving as pastor to congregations from the Lowcountry to the Upstate of South Carolina and taking them as far north as Louisville, Kentucky.  She served faithfully by his side until his death in 1994.

In May of 2003, she married James Hopper of Piedmont, SC until his passing in 2011.

She was the last living member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her daughter, Dianne Lamb Coffee (Randall).  She is survived by her son, Henry Joseph Lamb, Jr (Janet) and daughter, Cynthea Lamb Smith (Gary).  She leaves behind five grandchildren and six great-children.

She was gifted with many creative talents working as a floral designer, cake decorator, and seamstress.  She played saxophone, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School as well as planned many weddings, luncheons and fundraisers.  She counseled troubled souls, sat by the bedside of the sick and grieved alongside those with broken hearts. She had a positive impact on many lives.  She was well loved and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, SC on Friday, February 21st at 3pm.  Those attending are invited to share a personal story, memory, recitation, or photo about your time with our beloved Althea.
