Obituary of Betty "Nana" Rhodes

Betty Faye Putnam Rhodes, 82, widow of Frank Perry Rhodes, of Simpsonville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.  Born in Simpsonville, she was a daughter of the late John Gideon and Lucille Babb Putnam.

Betty was an active member of Pisgah United Methodist Church.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles daily.  Betty became a NASCAR and sports fan to spark conversation with her son-in-law.  She was also a Carolina Gamecock supporter.

Betty is survived by her three daughters, Pippa Holcombe (Ken), Patty Jo Onodera, and Alison Bruce (Rick); four grandchildren, Logan Harrell (Ashley Whitener), Richard Bruce, EvyAnne Cantrell (Lucas), and Max Koffskey; a brother, James Putnam; a sister Johnnie Hipps (Henry); and a special young lady whom Betty thought of as a grandchild, Madisyn Dallaire.  In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Holcombe; two sisters, Barbara Abercrombie and Claribel Jewell; and her beloved dog, Chipper.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Fletcher Funeral Service from 6 - 8 pm.  The funeral service will be at Pisgah United Methodist Church, 1719 McKelvey Rd, Fountain Inn, SC 29644, on Saturday, March 1, 2025 beginning at 11:30 am.  Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Pisgah United Methodist Church.
