Obituary of Tara Lindsey

Please share a memory of Tara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Tara L. Lindsey, age 51, doting mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, aunt and friend, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Ms. Lindsey was born in Greenville, SC to Walter Blease “Butch” Loftin and Marilyn Alice Taylor.  She was employed with TD Bank.  Tara was once a bowling aficionado, participating in league play and tournaments often.  She spent countless hours and lovingly invested so much time and energy into traveling the southeast in support of Gage in his baseball era.  She enjoyed shopping – especially at Bath & Body Works – and collecting vanilla-scented soaps.  Tara was known for her infamous macaroni & cheese that was served as a staple at every family function.  She was a huge Clemson Tigers fan and a friend to many through her online chats.  Tara loved trips to the beach, but her greatest joy was being “Nana” to her grandchildren.

Surviving are her son, Gage Lindsey with wife Allie; her mother, Marilyn Thawley; her father, Butch Loftin with wife Debbie; a maternal grandfather, Alvin Taylor; a brother, Robbie Thawley with wife Amanda; a sister, Carlee Smith with husband Vic; two grandchildren, Rylie and Beau Thomas; a niece, Brynlee Smith; and an uncle, Tracy Taylor.  Although Tara’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will forever inspire and uplift us.  May her memory be a blessing and her legacy of love and compassion be carried in all that we do.

Services will be private and are by invitation only.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are for those who were there for us on the night of her passing.  A heartfelt thank-you to the First Responders for doing everything they could.

Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home.  Memorials in Tara’s honor may be made to Meals-on-Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
