Obituary of Raymond Kellogg
Raymond DeAlton “Ray” Kellogg, 88, husband of Virginia M. Hallock Kellogg for 66 years, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 7, 2025.
Mr. Kellogg was born in Altmar, NY to the late Ambrose W. Kellogg and Marguerite Harris Kellogg. Ray and Virginia were natives of Pulaski, NY, relocating in 2003 to Greer, SC. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves and later retired from Carrier Corporation after 25 years of service. He was an active member of Burnsview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and volunteered his time and skills. He and others he served with, humorously referred to themselves as the “Grunt and Strain Group”. From yardwork, small home projects, building ramps, to meal delivery, he enjoyed serving alongside his church family. He also enjoyed fishing, taking walks with Virginia, and on occasion, attending a dirt track race event. Ray was a reserved, uncomplicated man with a witty a sense of humor, all, aiding him in living a long, blessed life.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Daniel “Dan” Kellogg (Roxanne), Ronald “Ron” Kellogg (Evelyn), Donald “Don” Kellogg (Lisa), and David “Dave” Kellogg (Paulette); twenty one grandchildren, Daniell Kellogg, Jamie Kellogg (Erin Jay), Brandon Kellogg (Bekah), Nate Kellogg (Liz), Victoria Lynn Kellogg, Travis Kellogg (Victoria), Kristina Hainsworth (Hunter), Amanda Kellogg, Nick Kellogg (Cookie), Brittany Trusty (Chris), Harold Porter, Jessi Strickland, Caren Meth (Dave), Megan Mack (Edwin), Amy Kellogg, and Noah Kellogg, Michael Maher (Danielle) Danielle Comes (Eric) Brittani Williams (Tim), and Molly Forkhamer (Tyler); and twenty great-grandchildren, and one expecting.
Ray was the last surviving of his immediate family. He was predeceased by a brother, Harris Kellogg and sister-in-law, Evelyn; two sisters, Alice King and brother-in-law, Bill, and Edith Black and brother-in-law, Wilton.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday at Burnsview Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Tim Huckaby. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow in Green Pond Memorial.
