Freddy Coley Thackston, 85, widow of Gerald Thackston, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
Mrs. Thackston was born in Spartanburg to the late Kenneth Reginald Coley and Mittie Jane Jennings Coley. She was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. Freddy loved cooking and was known for her Prune cakes. She enjoyed Bingo, traveling and Saturday morning yard-sales. She was a collector of teapots and cherished being Granny to her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Wendell Thackston with wife Rhonda, and Wayne Thackston with wife Jenny Lynn; a daughter, Dianne Lancaster; two sisters, Virl Ritchie and Betty Morgan; four grandchildren, Danyel Fults, Brad Lancaster, Hunter Thackston and Allison Rhodes with husband Casey; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Junior Coley and Harold Coley; five sisters, Pert Shelton, Margaret Brown, Carrie Hudson, Ellen Coley and Helen Coley; and a grandson, Tyler Thackston.
Visitation will be 3 – 4 o’clock Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service in Woodruff.
Graveside services will begin at 4:30 PM Friday in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Lee Gosnell.
