Winston Griswold Obituary

Winston Churchill Griswold, widower of Doris Owens Griswold, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Born in Tryon, NC, he was one of eleven children of the late Harvey Lem Griswold and Ollie Mae Burle Griswold. Winston was a fan of NASCAR and Ford. He enjoyed fishing and was a collector of John Deere tractors. He was a hard worker in the construction and logging industries.


Winston is survived by his son, Jeff Griswold; daughter, Nancy Coe; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie Stegall.


A graveside service will be held Friday, April 4, 2025 at Greenville Memorial Gardens beginning at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bessie Road Baptist Church, 575 Bessie Road, Piedmont, SC 29673.
