Starla will be remembered by our family for her compassionate care for residents of The Dunes. She was humorous, honest with her feelings, and conscientious. Her faith was evident as she enjoyed playing contemporary Christian songs for residents. We express our heartfelt condolences to all her family.

I do not know where to start. We grew up together and you eventually became my Sister in Law. For 30 years you have been my family. You were one of a kind. My best friend, my family, you were hilarious, a great Mom, and most importantly is How much I Love You. You will forever be in my heart as I will ALWAYS carry you in my heart. This is not a Goodbye Stee but a simple I will meet with you again one day. To the Brown Family I am so heart broken for each of you. I send my deepest condolences for your loss. I know Stee had a great welcoming home by her beloved Daddy. I miss you both as you are still my Family. I Love You All and I’m here if you need anything. I know God each one of you wrapped in his arms. Give it to God as he will never forsaken you. God Bless

Starla this seems so unreal, we were just chatting about this Facebook memory the other week, though i know we have many other photos together this has always been one of my favorites. I will always cherish the memories we got to make working together. I love you always & so glad you are no longer in pain.

We came to know and love Starla over the almost 4 years that my father was in memory care at The Palmettos. My father also loved her. Over those years, we became better and better aquainted with her as more than one of my father's trusted caregivers but also as a person.Starla was a remarkable young woman and our family was blessed to have had her in our lives. She exemplified what it means to have a servant's heart. Hers was certainly a life of purpose, substance and above all, love.
