James Daniel “Jim” Wilson, 83, husband of Judy Marcia Jones Wilson for 62 years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Mr. Wilson was born in Greenville to the late Grady Wilson and Myrtle Mae Bruce Wilson.  He was a member of Greenville First Assembly of God.  Jim was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Delta Woodside Mills.  He enjoyed fishing and RV camping.  He loved playing the bass guitar and played in several gospel groups throughout the years – including The Gospel Sound, the Larry Ross Trio, and Calvary’s Call.  Jim cherished being Pop-Pop to his grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and their wives, Steve and Christine Wilson, and Stan and Esther Wilson; a brother, Tommy Wilson; two sisters, Mary Cox and Linda Wyatt; four grandchildren, Hayden Turlington with husband Chip, Casey Wilson, Micah Wilson, and Bethany Wilson; and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Turlington.  He was predeceased by a sister, Martha Capps.

A celebration of Jim’s life, with military honors, will begin at 1 o’clock Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.
