Charles Henry Lineberry, 82, widower of Rachel Jean Prince Lineberry, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2025. Born in Gastonia, NC, he was a son of the late Fred Henry Lineberry and Evelyn Jeanette Reynolds Lineberry.
Charles loved his country and proudly served as part of the United States Army Military Police in Germany beginning in 1960. He received an honorable discharge in 1962. Charles was a NASCAR fan and an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt. Charles married his best friend, Rachel, and they enjoyed exploring and traveling the world together. They were inseparable.
Charles is survived by his son, Lee Lineberry (Donna) of Gastonia, NC; five grandchildren, Emilee Lineberry, William Shane Abernathy, Brian Abernathy, Jeremy Davenport, and Lauren Davenport; a sister June Wilson of Ormond Beach, FL; nephew Dan Wilson and wife Marie of Holly Hill, FL; nieces Linda Cahill of Orlando FL, Teresa Russell of Port Orange FL, and Charlene Fullam of Mt Holly NC; and Step-daughter Kathy and husband David Blackwell of Inman, SC. In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Terina Lineberry; his brother, Gary Lineberry; and step-sons Roy and Larry Hutcherson.
The family wishes to recognize and give special thanks to nurse Charlene Mangle and all of the care team from Crescent Hospice of Greenville.
A private service will be held for the family.
