John Mauk Barrett, 76, husband of Pamela Jan Broyles Barrett for 43 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Mr. Barrett was born in Johnson City, TN to the late George Pleasant Barrett and Eppie Anna Thornburg Barrett.  He was a Vietnam veteran of the US Marine Corps.  John retired from Baldor Electronics.  He enjoyed fishing and loved his dogs.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, John Mauk Barrett, II with wife Kimi, Greg Barrett with wife Tammy and Heath Bennett; a daughter, Amanda Hartley with husband Dinky; a brother, Ronnie Barrett with wife Donna; a sister, Judy McCubbin with husband Timmy; three grandchildren, Kelvin Hartley, Lois Tilson with husband Adrian, and Dean Hartley; a great-grandson, Paul Tilson; and his beloved sidekick dog “Rambler”.  He was predeceased by three sisters, Georgianna Radar, Phyllis Barrett and Barbara Ruff.

A celebration of John’s life, with military honors, will begin at 1 o’clock Saturday at Harmony Baptist Church.  John will be interred at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
