Jim Stenhouse Obituary

James DeWitte “Jim” Stenhouse. Jr., 70, husband of Linda Jackson Stenhouse for 51 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2025.


 


Mr. Stenhouse was born in Simpsonville to the late James DeWitte “J.D.” Stenhouse, Sr. and Annie Mae Coleman Stenhouse. He was a member of Simpsonville Presbyterian Church and retired from the Greenville County Engineering and Maintenance Department. Jim was a former volunteer fireman of Simpsonville Fire Department and a member of the SC Firefighters Association. He also served as a mason with Masonic Lodge #311. Jim was an avid reader and enjoyed NASCAR, shooting, boating, and fishing.  He was a collector of model trains.


 


Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jim Stenhouse III with wife Brenda; a son in-law, John Clark; a sister, Judy Smith with husband Tom; and three grandchildren, John Clark, Bryce Clark, and Dalton Goad.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Anne Clark; and a sister, Jean Cleaver.


 


The family will receive friends 5-7pm Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.


 


Memorials in Jim’s honor may be made to Simpsonville Presbyterian Church, 510 E. Curtis Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
