Laura LeCroy Obituary

Laura Lorraine Carroll LeCroy, 60, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Ms. LeCroy was born in Asheville, NC to Claudette Ingle Thackston and the late James Ervin “Jim” Carroll.  She was a member of Woodruff Road Worship Center.  Laura loved art – particularly drawing and painting.  She was a writer of poetry and a collector of gnomes, clowns and dragonfly figurines.  She loved being “GiGi” to her grandchildren.  Laura was a devoted mentor and encourager for many people in recovery.  She texted and posted inspirations to them daily and remained a steady friend during their time of need.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two sons, Matthew Carroll and Shawn Head; two brothers with their wives, Jimmy and Karen Carroll and Tommy and Angie Carroll; a sister, Dorothy Ray; two grandsons, Austin Carroll with wife Emma and Nicholas Spencer; a great-grandson, Billy; a nephew, Cody Carroll; a niece, Julie Hillyard with husband Brent; and three great-nephews, Russell Moore with wife Gracie, Ryland Moore with wife Harley, and Ramsey Moore.

Graveside services will begin at 12 noon Saturday at Middle Fork Cemetery – 1607 US 19, Mars Hill, NC 28754.  Following the service, the family will receive friends at Middle Fork Baptist Church located on Crooked Creek Road in Mars Hill.

Memorials may be made to Woodruff Road Worship Center, 4971 Hwy 101, Woodruff, SC 29388.
