Julia Coxie Obituary

Julia Leigh Coxie, age 39, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 30, 2025, surrounded by love and care. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of Cindy Mailana Coxie and the late Johnny Joe Coxie, Sr.

Julia exemplified independence and ambition, embracing each of her goals with clarity and commitment. She found joy in concerts, reading, hiking, attending community events, and collecting meaningful relics. Above all, she had a deep love for travel, highlighted by a memorable journey to China. Among her proudest accomplishments was hiking all of South Carolina’s State Parks, a feat marked by her completed stamp book and recognition as an Ultimate Outsider. Her adventurous spirit lived on through her bucket list, which included visiting all 50 states and completing the National Park Passport program.

She is survived by her daughter, Alexis Coxie; her son, Hayden Lowell; her grandchild, Marlowe Burdette; and her sisters, Crystal Foskey and Sarah Coxie. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Johnny Coxie, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Service in Fountain Inn. A celebration of life will follow at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Julia will be remembered for the vibrant energy she brought into every space, her unwavering spirit, and the way she inspired others to live boldly, love deeply, and chase life’s adventures without hesitation.
