Sandra Lee Watson, 77, widow of Rudolph Watson, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Roy Sanford Leopard and Mallie Harvey Leopard.
Sandra enjoyed spending time watching some of her favorite television broadcasts, which included wrestling and NASCAR. She was a dedicated fan of the daytime soap opera, Days of Our Lives from its beginning in 1965. Sandra loved dogs but her greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Nanny to the grands and Gigi to the great grands.
Sandra is survived by her sister, Patsy Garrett; daughter-in-law, Shirley Watson; three grandchildren, Chris Watson, Brett Watson, and Chase Hatcher; four great grandchildren, Claire Watson and Adalyn, Aubrey, and Haley; a nephew, Michael Garett; and extended family members, Johnny Hamlin and wife, Deborah and their son Dakota. In addition to her husband and parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her son, Allen Watson; by two sisters, Brenda Faye Leopard and Joyce Mahaffey; two nephews, Tommy Garrett and Charles Mahaffey; and her mother’s twin brother, Uncle Allie Harvey.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Fletcher Funeral Service beginning at 4:00 pm. The family will visit with friends following the service.
