Kathy Moize Obituary

Martha Kathryn “Kathy” Dearman Moize, 87, wife of Donald Rufus Moize for 67 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Mrs. Moize was born in Greenville to the late Robert Tandy Dearman and Berzella O. King Dearman.  She was a member of First Baptist Simpsonville.  Kathy retired from Armstrong Cork and worked many years at Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn.  She enjoyed shopping, cooking, cruises, and trips to the beach.  Kathy and Don were very active square dancers in their younger years.  She has a fondness for butterfly bushes, hummingbirds, and bubblegum petunias.  She was a collector of cookbooks.  Kathy loved sitting on the porch and enjoying nature; however, her most cherished moments was spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Steve Moize; Susan Sullivan with husband James; five grandchildren, Josh Sullivan, Madison Orgeron with husband Tanna, Jonathan Sullivan with wife Sky; Sellers Moize with wife Katherine, and Amirah Moize; and four great-grandchildren, Harley, Owen, Gentry Kate and Beckett.  She was predeceased by four brothers, Jack Dearman, Gilford Dearman, Ben Dearman, and Robert Dearman; and two sisters, Mildred Warren and Betty Dearman.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will begin at 11 o’clock Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Chaplain Stephen Hearne.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Entombment will be held at 11 o’clock Monday in the mausoleum of Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Memorials in Kathy’s honor may be made to Meals-on-Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605; or to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, P.O. Box 801889, Dallas, TX  75380.
