Mary Frances Peden, 87, widow of John Bill Peden, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 7, 2025.
Mrs. Peden was born in Clinton to the late John Henry Foster and Pearlie Burden Foster. Frances served the Lord faithfully throughout her life. She and her first husband served as the music and youth Pastors for many years at Elizabeth Street Church of God in Clinton. As she was a member of the Church of God for over 7 decades (Cleveland, TN).
She was a talented musician - serving as a pianist and organist for several churches. In her later years Frances served alongside friends and peers in the Young at Heart Senior Group of Gray Court Church of God. For years, Frances held steadfast remembering and celebrating countless lives through her card ministry. She also enjoyed spending time in her prayer garden, crafting, playing her piano and working in her home (which was her happy place). One of her greatest enjoyments in life was being “Nana” to Austin and Asheton.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Peden Dye; a son-in-law, Patrick Dye; a grandson, Austin Dye with wife Gabrielle; a granddaughter, Asheton Dye; an aunt, Julie Massey; a niece, Jean Young with husband Jerry; two nephews, Danny Moates with wife Linda, and Edgar Foster with wife Andrea; and her lifelong neighbors and dear friends, Doris and Marshall Nichols. She was predeceased by two brothers, Wallace Foster and JC Foster; a sister, Helen Moates; and a nephew, the Rev. John B. Moates. Frances was the last surviving of her immediate family.
Funeral services will begin at 11 o’clock Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Austin Dye, Rev. Edgar Foster, and Rev. Patrick Dye. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private.
In honor of Frances, donations may be made to the Jimmy Swaggart Bible College, 7320 Bluebonnet Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
