Betty Mae Cannady Templeton, 91, widow of Lewis Cleveland Templeton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Mrs. Templeton was born in Laurens to the late Clarence Bud Cannady and Bertha Lee Spelts Cannady. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she never missed a Seniors Meal on Tuesday nights. Betty enjoyed walking at the Fountain Inn Activity Center and playing Bingo and Solitaire. She was known as “Mama T” to her grandchildren and known for her family dinners every Sunday at her home.
Surviving are three sons, Jerry Templeton with wife Debbie, Jimmy Templeton with wife Pam, and Freddie Templeton; a daughter, Brenda Hall; a brother, Roy Cannady; nine grandchildren, Greg LeRoy (Marie), Michelle Wright (Shane), Kimberly Garrett, Dustin Templeton (Brittney), Justin Templeton, Ashley Hinojos (Ernie), Brittany Coats (Brad), Cassie Wilson (Alex), and Danielle Templeton; thirteen great-grandchildren, Chandler, Will, Cayden, Austin, Katherine, Sarah, Chesney, Corey, Racheal, Brinley, Briggs, Peden, and Paisley; and two great-great-granddaughters, Ansleigh and Rylan. She was predeceased by a son, Danny Templeton; a son-in-law, Morris Hall; five brothers, Slick Cannady, Ray Cannady, Bobby Cannady, Sr., Paul Cannady and Ralph Cannady; a sister, Rosie Smith; and a granddaughter, Jamie LeRoy.
Funeral services will be 11 o’clock Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.
