Wayne Laurie McCutcheon, 73, husband of Lynn Calcutt McCutcheon went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Mr. McCutcheon was born in Kingstree, SC to the late Larry Oswald “Sonny Boy” McCutcheon and Pansy Ree Hodge McCutcheon. He was a veteran of the SC Army National Guard and retired after a successful career in sales. Wayne’s biggest love was his adored wife of 54 years, Lynn and his three children. He also enjoyed spending time with his six beautiful granddaughters whom he doted on every chance he got. Being “Granddaddy” to his girls was a most cherished part of his life. With a smile that lit up every room, he could often be found cracking jokes at the Waffle House with his friends. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, and family time at the lake. When not on the water, he could be found wearing his best Gamecock or Dale Earnhardt apparel, driving things like he was on a NASCAR track himself.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Johnny McCutcheon with wife Melynda; two daughters, Kendra Stout with husband Joey, and Lindsay Beaman with husband Joe; a sister, Brenda McKenzie; and six granddaughters, Jordyn Pomar, Sarah Kate McCutcheon, Lauren McCutcheon, Anna McCutcheon, Kennedi Stout, and Addison Beaman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Welch.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will begin at 1 o’clock Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Cindy Bryant and Chaplain Douglas Simmons. Family will receive friends following the service.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Agape Hospice Care for their love and support during his care. Donations can be made in Wayne’s honor to Agape Care Group, 706 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Checks can be payable to Agape, with a note including donation in memory of Wayne McCutcheon.
