Nancy Compton Stribling, 86, widow of Charles Edward “Ed” Stribling, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Mrs. Stribling was born in Laurens to the late Roy Broughton Compton and Margie Chaney Compton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Beech Island. Nancy used her musical gifts by serving as church pianist and organist for several churches in the Upstate before she and Ed moved to the Aiken area in 2004. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She loved being “Grandma” to her grandsons.
Surviving are a daughter, Jane Stribling, a son, Charles E. Stribling, Jr. and wife,
Paula, and two grandsons, Drew Stribling, and David Stribling and wife, Ashley. She was predeceased by two sisters, Edna Compton and Margaret Compton Lee.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will begin at 11 o’clock Friday in the chapel of Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by the Rev. Stephen Clyborne. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private.
The family would like to express its gratitude to Agape Care Group for its excellent care of Nancy during her illness, with special thanks to Dr. Marlon Sharpe, Hillery, Denetra, Alex, and Shawn.
