Mary Ann Tench, 79, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Ms. Tench was born in Greenville to the late Robert Lee Pace and Mary Melonee Nix Pace. She retired from Collins-Aiken (formerly J.P. Stevens). Mary Ann enjoyed crocheting and bird watching; however, her favorite hobbies were fishing, being at the lake, and watching NASCAR. She cherished being Memaw to her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis Tench with wife Barbara, and Jason Tench with wife Stacy; a daughter, Denise Ormsby with husband David; eight siblings, Bobby Pace with wife June, Nancy Medlin, Hilda Crumpton, Ricky Pace, Lynn Pace, Blanche Chapman, Leah Allison, and Karen Wicks with husband Brian; six grandchildren, John Hopp, Kylie Greybill (Tom), Ethan Tench, Seth Tench with wife Alia, Hannah Tench, and Isabella Tench; and four great-grandchildren, AnnaLise, Winston, Penelope, and Maverick. She was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Pace.
A celebration of Mary Ann’s life will begin at 2:30 PM Thursday at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church in Sunset, SC. The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials in Mary Ann’s honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
