James Richard “Dicky” Garrett, 75, husband of Linda Ann Walton Garrett, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Mr. Garrett was born in Greenville to the late Gordon Sidney Garrett and Mary Louise Christopher Garrett. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserves and the founder and owner of R&D Cabinet Shop. Dicky was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, the HEJAZ Shriners, the Fountain Inn Masonic Lodge, and the Christian Motorcycle Association. He was a fan of NASCAR and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt. He enjoyed watching Westerns and gardening. Dicky had a beautiful and powerful Baritone voice and was a talented singer. He actively served in a Prison Ministry for several years and was a collector of baseball caps.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are six children, Alisha Stephenson with husband David, Angela Petty with husband Russell, Adam Garrett, Bev Cannon, Cheryl Cannon, and Walt Cannon with wife Candy; a brother, Doug Garrett with wife Theresa; two sisters, Gail Mancuso and Polly Davis with husband Ben; twelve grandchildren, Sammie Stephenson, Justin Stephenson, Bailey Stephenson, Eliza Sibert, Elliot Sibert, Garrett Stephenson, Jessi Mills with husband Jared, Shelby Bautista with husband Nick, Kaelynn Partlow, Wil Cannon, Kassie Partlow and Christopher Partlow; and five great-grandchildren, River, Walker, Wesley, Carter and Scottie. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, George Mancuso.
A celebration of Dicky’s life will begin at 11 o’clock Thursday at Hillside Baptist Church. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
