Norman Tollison Obituary

Norman Junior Tollison, 84, husband of Nancy Rebecca Alverson Tollison for 66 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Mr. Tollison was born in Greenville to the late Clyde Norman Tollison and Florence Alethia Harvey Tollison.  He retired from Cryovac after 35 years of dedicated service as a superintendent.  Never one to sit still, he continued to work during retirement as a handyman and if he wasn’t working you could find him tending to his koi fish pond or working on a project.

Known for his generous spirit, and big heart, Norman was always helping someone. He was selfless and steadfast, the kind of man who showed his love through action and service. A devout Christian and longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, his faith guided his life and relationships.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Tony Tollison; grandchildren, Gault Tollison & David Perry, Gib Tollison, Mary-Murk & Tyler Henderson, Kayla & Jake Diaz, Amy & Jean Collard; great-grandchildren, Jailyn & Georgia, Tianna, Jax Diaz; Marley, Elodie & Leia Collard; Lock and Ridge Henderson; and a great-great-grandson Jett Diaz.  He was predeceased by a son, Ricky Tollison; two sisters, Barbara Tollison and Dot Tollison; and two brothers, Jimmy Tollison and Edward Tollison.

A celebration of Norman’s life will begin at 2 o’clock Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will begin at 1 o’clock Sunday at Cannon Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Interim Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Norman’s final days.

Norman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of kindness, devotion, and hard work will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.
