Jerry Lewis Templeton, 72, husband of Debra Lynn Woods “Debbie” Templeton for 50 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Mr. Templeton was born in Greenville to the late Lewis Cleveland Templeton and Betty Mae Cannady Templeton. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Jerry retired from Fort Dearborn and spent his time working in the yard. He was a hard worker and a huge NASCAR fan – especially Dale Earnhardt. Jerry immensely enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith Show and the Three Stooges. He was a fan of the Clemson Tigers, the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Dolphins. He particularly relished being “Poppy” to his grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are twin sons, Justin Templeton and Dustin Templeton with wife Brittney; a daughter, Cassie Wilson with husband Alex; two brothers, Jimmy Templeton with wife Pam, and Freddie Templeton; a sister, Brenda Hall; and five grandchildren, Austin, Maci, Tucker, Bentley and Paisley. He was predeceased by a brother, Danny Templeton; and a brother-in-law, Morris Hall.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will begin at 2 o’clock Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
