Patty Cooper Obituary

Patricia Ann “Patty” Cooper, 65, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.


 


Ms. Cooper was born in Lynchburg, VA to the late George Thomas Overstreet and Katherine Louise Evans Overstreet.  Patty enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and she also worked for the the US Postal Service for 5 years.  She enjoyed fishing, crochet, video games, reading, and listening to gospel music.  She was a collector of Gone With The Wind plate collections and a big Virginia Tech fan.


 


Surviving are a son, Lee Cooper; three daughters, Priscilla Cooper, Cindy Cooper and Beth Whitman with husband Michael; two brothers, Tom Overstreet and David Overstreet with wife Regina; two sisters, Brenda Bowman and Teresa Duncan with husband Wayne; and five grandchildren, Daemon Cox, Harrison Whitman, Jasmine Wilson, Caydee Nissan, and Amberlyn Sharpe.  She was predeceased by a sister, Dianne Carson.


 


A celebration of Patty’s life will begin at 3 o’clock Saturday in the chapel of Fletcher Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends following the service.
