Emma Jean Garrett, 82, widow of Arthur Horace “Corky” Garrett, Jr., went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025.
Mrs. Garrett was born in Fountain Inn to the late Roy Edward Long, Sr. and Josephine Pennington Long. She was a faithful member of Bethabara Baptist Church where she served on the social committee. Jean retired from Kemet Electronics. She enjoyed painting, cooking, travel, living on the lake and decorating for the holidays.
Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Baumgardner with husband Jim, Delight Wallace, and Tanya Bartow with husband Jef; a daughter-in-law Rebecca Armstrong; a brother, Ed Long, Jr. with wife Karren; twelve grandchildren, Jarred Armstrong, Seth Armstrong with wife Amanda, Brandi Hensley with husband Scott, Ashley Foy with husband Jimmy, Brian Wallace with wife Karin, Tony Wallace with wife Candie, Kyle Wallace with wife Danielle, Jonathan Garrett, Rachel Barker with husband Jacob, Karlie Tankersley, Nathaniel Garrett, Jason Israel with wife Kim; and numerous great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Ron Armstrong and Dean Garrett.
A celebration of Jean’s life will begin at 12 noon Friday at Bethabara Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service from 12:45 until 2 p.m.
