John S. Groves Sr., 66 passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2025. 

Born in Akron, Ohio to Charles and Mary Groves, John found his greatest happiness in the simple things - casting a fishing line into still water, shaping raw wood into something useful and beautiful, and watching with pride as his grandchildren grew and discovered the world.

John is preceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Groves. He is survived by his children, Sarah (Nick) Weaver and Steven (Becky) Groves; their mother, Angie Groves; grandchildren Carter, Madison, Zachary, Brooklyn, Chase, Grady, Bailey, Lucas and Camdyn; and siblings Chuck, Mary, Bill (Sylvia), Mike (Linda) Groves and Anne (Joe) Halter.

Friends and family will be invited to a Celebration of Life at a date to be determined.
