Alan Peeples Obituary

Alan Laughlin Peeples, 84, of Pelzer, SC passed away at Prisma Hospital on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.


Alan was a member of Fork Shoals Baptist Church and attended Belton Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He retired from Cryovac Division of Sealed Air in Simpsonville after 33 years.  During his last moments, he expressed his desire to go home and be with Jesus.


Alan leaves behind his fiancé of 26 years, Sylvia James, whom he adored; two nieces, Tiffany Smallwood of Pelzer and Melody Gilliland of Greenville; a nephew, Bailey Peeples (Emily) of Belton; and five great nieces and nephew, Holley Smallwood (Allen), and her father Al Smallwood, Brittany Gilliland (Mary), Alicia Gilliland, Samantha Peeples, and Gracie Peeples.  He was predeceased by both of his parents, Sam Bailey Peeples and Lois Esther Coker Peeples; his brother, Sammie Peeples; sister, Martha Peeples; and his nephews, Parker Peeples and Lee Matthew Jordan.


A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Fletcher Funeral Service from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.  A celebration of life will follow beginning at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be private for the family.
