Geneva Ann Akins, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she fellowshipped, traveled and served with the lady’s group. Geneva enjoyed decorating her home, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was known for her quick wit, sweet spirit and wonderful sense of humor.

Surviving are a son, David Akins; three daughters, Barbara Plumley, Sharon Sanders, and Cindy Jones; and four grandchildren, Houston Jones, Nicole Plumley, Olivia Akins, and Victoria Sanders. She was predeceased by two brothers, J.D Harris and Truman Harris; a sister, Wanda Sue Harris; and son-in-law, Larry Sanders.

A celebration of Geneva’s life will be held 1 o’clock Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Shane Hull. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
