Laeta Ann Peckham, 87, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

Laeta was born in Redlands, CA to the late John Leach Gregory and Kathryn Lapchies Thennis Gregory.  She was a native of California, where she married Joseph “Joe” Coppola. Laeta and Joe became teenage parents, and found themselves amidst new responsibilities of raising a family and struggling financially. Together with a lot of hard work, they became very successful Produce Brokers in Los Angeles, CA. Laeta was also an exceptional cook, baking and preparing memorable meals.  Several years later, she and John Peckham married, relocating to Woodruff, SC in 1990. She enjoyed gardening, canning, shopping, and being with friends and family. She also enjoyed long drives exploring the region. After John’s passing, she continued to reside in Woodruff. She met Tommy and began a life together making new memories as they traveled, camped, and attended gospel and country music events. Laeta loved the Lord, faithfully attended church and enjoyed fellowship. She was a member of Burnsview Baptist Church and a former member of Selma Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, John Coppola (Rosie); four daughters, Kathy Crowe (Brian); Sheri Coppola-Guzman (Alex), Debra Patterson (Scott) and Lorie Coppola (Tony Landry); twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Meg Cupman.

Visitation will be 4 – 6 o’clock Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Fletcher Funeral Service in Woodruff.

A celebration of Laeta’s extraordinary life will begin at 2 o’clock Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Selma Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Fred Quidley and Rev. Tim Huckaby.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
