Arthur Henry Lineberger, Sr, (“Papa Arthur”), 68, of Simpsonville, South Carolina went to his eternal resting place on January 31, 2026. Arthur was born in Greenville, South Carolina to Frances McCall Gallivan Lineberger and Earle McCorkle Lineberger, Sr.
Raised in the Parkins Mills area, Arthur attended and graduated from Mauldin High School. At age 18 with $17 in his pocket, Arthur moved out west to work on oil rigs. A short time later, he moved back to Greenville, South Carolina before settling down in the low country as a husband, father, and commercial fisherman.
Arthur lived a full life guided by independence, kindness, and caring for others - living life to the fullest. Arthur enjoyed working with his hands and was the jack of all trades. He even built the home he raised his children in. In his free time, he enjoyed camping and boating. The lake and ocean are where he found peace, joy, and a sense of freedom that reflected who he was at heart.
His family will miss his history lessons, quiet confidence, corny jokes, and ham and gravy. His grandchildren hold tightly to the memories they shared crabbing and cruising the inlet in the Jon boat. His great grandchildren will miss the Werther's caramel treats that he would bring to them when he visited. Arthur had a way of connecting with people and will be missed immensely by all who knew him. Forever remembered for his humor, generosity, warmth, and individuality. A lasting legacy for those that knew him.
Arthur is survived by his long-time partner Donna Lineberger; son Arthur Henry Lineberger Jr with wife Ashton; daughter Jennifer Jennings; granddaughter Allie Lindsey with husband Gage; grandson Tyge A. Watts; granddaughter Hannah Watts; grandson Jaden Priest; grandson Noah Watts; great granddaughter Rylie Cullen; great grandson Beau Lindsey; sister Susan M. Lineberger; brother Earle M.
