Charlie Andrew Chapman, Jr., 82, husband of Cindy Jo Henry Chapman for 45 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Mr. Chapman was born in Princeton to the late Charlie Andrew Chapman, Sr. and Mary Lou Kirby Chapman. He was a member of Hickory Tavern Church of God where he served as a Trustee and on the Finance Committee. Charlie was a Class of 1961 graduate of Ellen Woodside High School and a graduate of Greenville Technical College. He retired from Michelin Tire US 1 and worked many years at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Charlie was a dedicated Mason and a member of Princeton Masonic Lodge #129 A.F.M. where he served as the Worshipful Master in 1968 and 1984, and as the Lodge secretary from 1985 until the present. He served as a District Deputy Grand Master in 1990-1991 and also one the Past MSA committee and the Past ME committee. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Greenville where he served as Venerable Master of the Lodge of Perfection in 2019 and as the Wise Master for the Chapter of Rose Croix in 2013. He also served as Chairman of the Board for the John I. Smith Language Center and as a Trustee of the Scottish Rite Foundation of SC. Charlie served as the Past High Priest, Past Illustrious Master, and Past Excellent Commander for the York Rite Bodies of Laurens. He served as the Secretary from 2010 and was recently designated as the Secretary Ameritas.
Charlie served as an Allied Mason on the Joel R. Poinsett Council #166 and as the Sovereign Master in 2016. He was a member of the HEJAZ Shrine Temple and served as the Director of Ritualistic Divan from 1994-1996.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Mark Andrew Chapman with wife Karen, and Mark Henry Chapman; two grandchildren, Caleb Chapman with wife Hannah, and Katelyn Arnold; and two greatgrandchildren, Weston and Shelby. He was predeceased by a sister, Faye Mahon.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service in Fountain Inn.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will begin at 11 o’clock Wednesday at the Hickory Tavern Church of God. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Memorials in Charlie’s honor may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
