Marie Sanders Stevens Marie Stevens, 72, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, and was welcomed into the arms of her Savior, Jesus. She fought fiercely against Alzheimer’s and cancer.

Marie was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late Bobby Joe Sanders Sr and Norma Dye Lockaby on May 7th, 1953. She loved her previous work as a church secretary and always aimed to stay involved in church ministries. She started and led the Military Ministry at Duncan First soon after 9/11 and always enjoyed being in the choir. Marie was known for serving others and always sending cards.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Bobby Stevens, her daughter Honesty Martin (Skip), son Clif Stevens, and grandsons Cody and Taylor Martin. Also, her stepfather George Lockaby, sisters Teresa Sanders Cannady, Amanda Sanders Timms, and Tracie Lockaby, and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Joey Sanders, and stepmother Annette Sanders.

A celebration of life service will be held at Duncan First Baptist, Duncan, SC on Saturday, March 28th a 4 pm. The family will have visitation prior to the service at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Military Ministry of Duncan First Baptist Church, 103 E Main St, Duncan, SC 29334.
