Mitchell O. Stephens “Mitch”, age 88, of Fountain Inn, South Carolina left his earthly body to enter into the presence of the Lord on Sunday April 5, 2026 at his home surrounded by his wife and (grand)daughter.
A man of few words, steady, calm, tough and stood 10 feet tall. He served in the United States Air Force, retired from Woodside Mills, a loving husband, a caring father and a steadfast grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Shirley Stephens, children Mike Stephens (Ellen) of Fountain Inn, Donna Little of Fountain Inn, Rebecca Rhodes (Cody Huff) of Fountain Inn, Robyn Devall of Fountain Inn, William Stephens of Fountain Inn, Ann Leopard of Simpsonville, Sherri Dow of North Carolina, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of his world. A brother William Stephens of Duncan.
He is preceded in death by his father Marvin Stephens, mother Mildred Owens Stephens, brothers Jack Stephens, Donald Stephens and one sister Peggy.
He deeply enjoyed working on things, western tv shows, nascar, sitting on the porch, playing cards, telling stories and most of all time with those he loved. A man who left a void that will never be filled. Despite many health challenges, Mitchell remained resilient, strong, and grateful. Although his body wore tired he has now gained a brand new one that will never grown old nor tire. The family is at their respected homes.
