John Jesse “Bid” Nichols, Jr., 86, husband of Myra Diane Cochran Nichols, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Mr. Nichols was born in Pauline, SC to the late John Jesse “Jay” Nichols, Sr. and Helen Frances Stribling Nichols.  He was a member of Hebron Methodist Church.  Bid retired from Pressley Machine Company.  He enjoyed NASCAR and fishing.  Bid was a collector of clocks and watches.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Pam Morse (Shawn) and Rona Edge (Jeff); a brother, Mark Nichols (Vickie); two sisters, Janice Roper and Frances Cochran; six grandchildren, Colt Brown, Justin Foster (Ashley), Asten Leonard (Brandon), Todd Edge, Garrett Nichols (Kathryn), and Katie Sloan (T.J.); and six great-grandchildren, C.J., Leland, Grayson, Hudson, Olivia, and Andrew.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn Reese; and three sisters, Shirley Cochran, Margaret Thompson and Alice Holcombe.
