Samuel “Sam” Hill, 92, husband of Lillian Juanita Hill for 50 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Mr. Hill was born in Fountain Inn to the late Rhett Hill and Mamie Hipps Hill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and member of Selma Baptist Church. Sam retired from Cryovac/Sealed Air Corporation after more than 35 years of service. One of his greatest joys came in being “Papa” to his grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Debbie McLeod with husband Ed of Sumter, SC; Dianne Hill of Simpsonville, SC; a stepson, Jackie Hughes  with wife Shawn of Lauren’s, SC; seven grandchildren, Nattile Clarke, Tony Hill, Kevin McLeod with wife Karen, Leanne Bentley with husband Justin, Eric Murrell with wife Alicia, Summer Ragsdale with husband Tyler, and Jackie Hughes with wife Ariel; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a son, Randy Hill; a sister, Elizabeth Chapman; and a grandson, David McLeod.

A graveside service will be held 1:30 pm, Saturday in the cemetery of Bellview Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Darren Smith. The family will receive friends immediately following.
