Matthew Scott Cason, 44, loving husband of Amber Nichole Cason, of Simpsonville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Lexington, SC, he was a son of Cynthia Denise Kelly Cason.

Matt was an excellent husband to Amber and “Daddy” to his three children.  He enjoyed Clemson Football, cooking on his smoker and grill, and collected various bourbons.  Matt was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed traveling with his friends and family.  His greatest pleasure came from coaching his children in various sports and spending time with his family at Edisto Beach.

Matt is survived by his wife and three children, Aubrey Leigh Cason, Savannah Ryleigh Cason, and Braiden Matthew Cason; his mother, a brother, Stuart Cason; his in-laws, Tammy and Mike Turner; sister and brother in law, April and Nick Downing; Sister in law, Ashley Duvall; brother in laws, Cody and Austin Turner. As well as, nieces Kayleigh and Bella Downing, nephew Jett Duvall, many cousins, and close lifetime friends.

A Drop-in, Celebration of Life, in Matt's Honor, will be held on July 5th, 1-4pm, @ Lakeview Acres Community Access, 102 Tiffany Lane, Fountain Inn, SC  29644.  Matt loved cooking and eating delicious food, so come out enjoy a meal with us, share your favorite memories with us, and bring your favorite picture(s) of him. We will have a blank photo album to put the pictures in, to give to Aubrey, Savannah, and Braiden. Matt loves wearing shirts with funny and "smart" sayings so wear yours, in his Honor.
