Jane Elizabeth Stewart, 62, wife to Kenneth Earl Ridley for ten years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Jane was born in Fountain Inn to Douglas Wayne Stewart and the late Evelyn Frances Leroy Stewart.  She was a member of New Harmony Presbyterian Church.  She was an alumnus of University of South Carolina – Spartanburg.  Jane began her career with the SC Department of Social Services and was currently working with the Georgia Department of Human Services.  She was an advocate for children and battered women; hence, serving many years as a volunteer at the Battered Women’s Shelter in Toccoa, GA.  Jane was a farmgirl at heart that enjoyed fishing.  She attended numerous Farm Bureau conventions with her dad.  She was a collector of cow figurines and a wonderful mom to her beloved cats.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her father, Doug Stewart; a sister, Peggy Stewart; and her favorite cat “Bear”.

A celebration of Jane’s life will begin at 1 o’clock Saturday at New Harmony Presbyterian Church.  The family will receive friends following the service.
