Audrey Jean McDonald Padgett, 86, wife to George Lewis Padgett for 66 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Mrs. Padgett was born in Fountain Inn to the late Daniele Reid McDonald and Audrey Cornelia Thompson McDonald. She graduated from Hillcrest High school and attended Anderson Junior College. Jean enjoyed cooking, trips to the beach and cheering for the Tigers and was happy to spend her retirement years in her beloved home state of South Carolina. She was sweet and dear and strived to make those around her comfortable and at ease.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Lewis Padgett and David Padgett; a daughter, Lisa Jerauld; two grandchildren, Ben Jerauld and Audrey Jerauld; and one greatgrandchild.  She was predeceased by a brother, Dan McDonald; a son-in-law, Joe Jerauld; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Padgett.

A celebration of Jean’s life will begin at 1 o’clock Friday, July 17th, in the chapel of Fletcher Funeral Service.
