Obituary of Worthy Blythe Nabors

Worthy Blythe “Buck” Nabors Jr., 92, husband of Jean Owens Nabors for 60 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

 

Mr. Nabors was born in Pelzer to the late Worthy Blythe Nabors Sr and Nellie Mae Pearson Nabors.  He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Canteen Vending.  Buck was a member of Simpsonville First Baptist Church and the Caring Sunday school class.  He was a graduate of Draughns Business School and a mason of Brandon Masonic Lodge.  He was a charter member of the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce. 

 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Mike Nabors and wife Joey, W.B. “Chuck” Nabors III, and Joe Nabors and wife Sandra; a daughter, Dee Burgess and husband Bo; a brother, Harold Nabors and wife Martha; a sister, Estelle King; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a son, Tony Nabors; and a sister, Doris Barnette. 

 

Funeral services, with Military Honors, will be 12 noon Saturday in the Chapel of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Bob Selts.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Entombment will follow at 4 p.m. in the mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Spartanburg.
