Obituary of Thomas Cherry Abbott, Sr.

Thomas Cherry (T.C.) Abbott, husband of Ivy Ballew Abbott, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

T.C. was born in Simpsonville, SC.  He was the son of Adger and Beulah Abbott of Simpsonville, SC.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.  He enjoyed traveling, baseball and spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife of 67 years, T.C. is survived by a sister, Edith Hewitt of Simpsonville, SC;  two sons, Tommy Abbott and wife Rhonda and Kent Abbott and wife Michelle, all of Simpsonville, SC; two daughters, Cleva Garner and husband Porter of Greenwood, SC and Judy Howard of Simpsonville, SC; a son-in-law Machen Clark of Taylors, SC; nine grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great grandchildren.  T.C. was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Clark.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time.

A graveside service will be held in the Simpsonville Municipal Cemetery on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 am. Visitation will follow the service.

Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
