Obituary of Jimmy Holt

Jimmy Louis Holt, 90, husband to the late Sara Louise Tumblin Holt, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2019.

Mr. Holt was born in Smackover, AR to the late Neal Holt and Cora Lee White Holt.  He was the owner of J.L. Holt Fencing Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a member of Standing Springs Baptist Church.  Jimmy loved to socialize and particularly enjoyed bluegrass jam sessions at his home on Saturday nights.  He enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, and dining at Cracker Barrel. 

Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Saxon and husband Donnie, Lynn Visser and husband Don, and Harriet Morrow; four grandchildren, Emily Saxon, Melanie Saxon, Roman Visser, and Sarah Visser and her fiancé Blake Payne; a nephew, Gary Anderson and wife Judy; three nieces, Cynthia Mason and husband Rex, Becky Lassiter and husband Britt, and Lou Ann Baldwin; and his beloved grand-dogs, Duke and Olive.  He was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Anderson; and a grandson, William Holt Saxon.

Funeral services, with Military Honors, will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9^th, at Standing Springs Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Danny Settle and Pastor Jordan Cobb.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the sanctuary.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

During his last days, the compassionate care provided by Becky Jenkins, Leanna Che, and Fran Choice was a Godsend and blessing to our family.  We will forever be thankful to all his caregivers and friends for your love and care during Dad’s time here.
